I'm not sure how we lucked out in getting my absolutely DARLING niece for a week, but WE DID!
Natalie and Rusty graciously flew Remi over to spend a little time with us before leaving for her mission. We had the most GRAND time and did some really fun things. But nothing compared to just having her HERE...
Everyone loved her company. She was kind, thoughtful, funny as heck, helpful, and we had the sweetest conversations together. It was truly a perfect week with her here.
It was Remi's second time through the temple and I LOVED being with her.

A Magical Day in Cambridge
I have been wanting to go to Cambridge for a long time and haven't found the opportunity. So when Remi said she wanted to go, off we went! Cambridge is dripping with history, stunning buildings and smart people! haha
This is us on a punting tour. The tour-guide rows you through the canals telling you the history of the different colleges in the city. A student has to get accepted into Cambridge and then they have to be accepted into a specific college. They have 31 different colleges - the most famous being Kings College, Queen's College, Trinity College, St. Johns and Clare College. The different colleges have friendly, but fierce comptitions with each other playing pranks, having the most elaborate accommodations and quirky traditions.
The entire city revolves around the University.
Some of the greats that graduated from Cambridge, and the discoveries made, were Stephen Hawking,
C.S.Lewis, British Prime Ministers (the first being Walpole) the disovery of hydrogen, neutrons,
X-rays, antibacterial qualities of penicillin, electrical conductivity, equilibrium theory,
jet engines, DNA and the most
Nobel Prizes were given to individuals who attended Cambridge.

Punting tour - we were SO fortunate to get a beautiful day. It has been so cold here, it was a welcomed change.

Things got a bit tricky when everything became glued to his hands and then he lost his trousers!
He managed getting up the stairs with impressive two-legged hop-jumps,
as his trousers were down around his ankles.

Spencer and I took Remi on a date night into London packed with shopping,
sushi and the energy packed Broadway Musical "Half a Sixpence!" ANNE in Middle School Basketball!
Anne played point guard this year again and did a fantastic job.
They were able to travel to Aberdeen, Scotland for a tournament.
She had a GREAT time and although they only won a few games, she said they really worked hard as a team.
She's a little fierce on the court and scrappy! It was SO fun watching her.
She works so hard.

I took the kids to the Wisley Butterfly Gardens. It was SO beautiful and we had a great time.
The conservatory was so warm and beautiful with butterflies flying around.
The kids had a blast looking for them and trying to get close to see them better.

Anne was invited by the Chapman's to travel to Belize for 9 days! She and Chloe had been preparing and so when she presented the idea, she did so with an entire outline at the positives to going on this trip.
She is SO dang funny! How do you say no to that face?!
Ike has had one request recently...to spend the day with his parents shopping for a new suit and getting lunch together...again, how do you say no to that! haha
Of course Josh found some friends in the mini world.
When I arrived, they had apparently spent all their money and were working to earn more!
Josh said, "Mom! Window washing pays great! 12 pounds and hour!"
I thought Uncle Jeff would be proud.

Anne realized she needed a bit more money to buy what she wanted,
so she went and got a job as a journalist and wrote an article for their Post.

ISSA Tournament
Our school held a three day basketball tournament for 10 teams from all over Europe.
The first day was not very competitive basketball and we won by almost 60 points.
Then when we played Turkey and finally Portugal for the Championship, the competition was intense and made for a very fun tourney. Our ACS Jaguars stayed on top and won the tournament!
Way to go Ike! He was ace at assists, defense and running the floor. It was very good basketball.

Remi jumped right in and helped me with all the cast member's hair and make-up for the performances. We were there for two afternoons and into the evening getting it all done. It was so fun working along side her and the students thought she was so great (and the actors LOVED all the attention to their hair and make-up they received.
(In fact, Ike STILL combs his eyebrows!)

This comedy was "a play within a play"
Ike played Freddy who was a charming, yet daft bloke, who kept getting confused with why he had to do certain things during the play. The other cast members would become exasperated with all his questions. SO FUNNY!

The other three yay-who's went to KIDZANIA and had an absolute blast together while we shopped.
Kidzania is an indoor "mini" world where kids get money, have to work and earn money and then can spend it.

For Spanish, Josh was learning about Argentina. So I asked my good friend Clarisa (from Argentina) if he could learn an Argentinian dish. She helped him and her daughter make the yummiest no-bake cake. He had a blast!
