ELIZA REMINGTON!!!
Eliza (a.k.a. Lil' Zed) just graduated from the IB program in Modesto and is heading off tho BYU Provo this fall! She came and spent two glorious weeks with us and we absolutely adored having her. She played with the kids, helped out with the craziness of life and had one request....to visit Pemberley!
(Pride and Prejudice's -Chatworth House)
As soon as she arrived, we drove over to the school so she could say goodbye to Ty on his Grade 4 field trip.
Ty with his good mate, Max, from Austrailia.
Ty zip-lining through the trees at his grade 4 field trip.
That evening we went to Joshy's Pack Meeting where he earned his Bear Badge.
Ty also earned his Wolf Badge and religious knot, but was not able to attend.
Josh shaking hands with his Cub Scout Master, Rob Gondolfo and his Den Leader, Steve.
One of Joshy's very best buddies, Connor Jones, who is moving to Abu Dhabi. (sad face, sniff)
Peak District!

The front of our AirB&B
We got to stay in the cutest B&B home. The family who own and run this fabulous location have completely renovated this historical site (300+ years old) and made part of it into a B&B.

Pemberley - Chatsworth House
Spence and I planned for me to take Eliza up to Pemberley for a night to meet her one request. It looks EXACTLY like it does in the movie and has the same grand appearance. SO much fun.
We were just hoping Mr. Darcy would come riding on his horse around the corner!
Oh! Yay!!!
The entrance
The interior grand entrance into the home.
A colossal ancient Roman foot on display inside the house. (approx. 50-150 BC)
A decorated staircase - Do you see the little black square in the center of the picture?
That is what the restorers left to show how much cleaning was done on these walls.
The masterful ceiling painting
This was a funny story about one of the characters painted into the ceiling. Apparently, the painter had a run-in with the house keeper and he immortalized her by painting her as a sort of villain cutting the string of life.
This is a three dimensional painting of a violin on a door! It was incredible!
You would never guess it was just a painting.
The room with the hidden painting of the violin on the door.
The Dutchess of Devonshire
This is the same person that is portrayed by Kierra Knightly in "The Dutchess".

Modern piece of wall art commissioned by the current Duke of Devonshire.
This style of art was designed by artist, Jacob van der Beugel. Each of the 659 panels is unique and can fit only in one place. The artist used actual DNA samples of the Duke and Duchess and their children to create a sort of ancestry tapestry if you will...very interesting.

The library - I only WISH I had a library like this to snuggle down with a good book!
The Veiled Vestal Virgin by Raffaelle Monti (1818 - 1881).
This statue was in "Pride and Prejudice" and Eliza was SO excited to see it!
It was truly beautiful and an amazing piece of art.

Oh! Mr. Darcy!!!
Their theatre room
The bed rooms were gorgeous
I loved this picture! I just pictured me and my two sisters as the models.
It was totally how we looked and dressed growing up.
We had the best time touring the gardens and loved everything we saw.
It was such a beautiful and HUGE place.
Yes, she's that cute :)
The Rock Garden (my favorite)
I know!!!!
The Garden's Maze
Heights of Abraham
The next morning, we took a gondola ride up to the top of this beautiful mountain.
It's in the Peak District National Park.
We got to go cave touring where people used to mine.
Over looking the Peak District
Frogmore House
I had previously gotten tickets from a friend of mine, Julia Hunt, to the 17th century Frogmore House in Windsor, which is owned by the royal family. The Crowne Estate only opens the house a few times a year I guess. AND...I got to drive on the Long Walk (the one that I run on, where no cars are allowed!) I was SO excited about this!
Queen Victoria & Prince Alberts Mausoleum
Eliza and I were so excited to see the Christus statue in the gardens. This is a replica after the the one in Copenhagen. It is the same replica our church uses as well.
We got to attend a meeting where Dallan H. Oaks spoke. It was SUCH a great night.
Anne, Ike, Eliza and I all sang in the choir.

We were able to go listen to Anne and Joshy at their violin recital.
Josh and Yuiko
Love these Virginia Park kids!
Felix Tengo, Hannah and Nico Barron, Tomasso and Fedé Ballenta, Ben Fitzgerald, Kyoma and Ricky Ashcroft
