18th Wedding Anniversary
I've heard amazing things about the Christmas Markets in Prague so I planned this trip back in the summertime. This city DID NOT disappoint. Absolutely magical. Once again, our dear friends Andy and Azaria McCluckie and baby Sienna stayed with the kids for three days. The kids had a GREAT time with them! Thank you McCluckie family! (The next post has more of their adventures...)
I think every married couple asks the question, "Holy Cow?" (Well, probably not everyone says that.)
But "Where did the time go?!" I'm pretty darn lucky and blessed to have met and married Spence. Life is such an adventure with him. Ups and downs and rounds and rounds, but I wouldn't choose anyone but him to share my life with. I love you Spencer Wayne Holt! Here's to the next 18++!

Christmas Market Shopping
The main city centre square, with its historical astronomical clock. It was built in 1410 and is the third oldest operating astronomical clock in the world.
The upper portion represent the sun, the moon and the stars with the bottom portion representing the apostles and even a skeleton to represent death. Their legend states that the city will suffer if the clock is neglected.
But it is in perfect working condition today.
This main church called Tyn Church (or The Church of Our Lady before Tyń) was built in
the 14th century and stands majestically within the city centre.

The stained-glass windows in the cathedral were stunning, very detailed and colorful.

St. Salvator Church is a large majestic church set at one end of Charles Bridge marking the entrance to the Old Town. It is considered to be one of the most valuable examples of early-Baroque architecture in Prague.
*Quick Story: On the evening of the day we arrived we had been walking around the city and came across this church. They were selling tickets to listen to a concert that was to start at 5pm. There was to be an organist, a violinist and a soprano. I gave Spencer the puppy-dog eyes and he bought two tickets and we went in. It was SO cold but they heated the pews so we stayed warm; barely. The organist played a piece from the Messiah and the vocalist sang Ava Maria! Not to mention the violinist was phenomenal. It was incredible!! What beautiful sounds.

the "Powder Tower" and dates back to the 11th century.
They are able to put up manger scenes and no one gets offended!
Trdelníkl-It's a pastry made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick,
then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix,THEN they smeared Nutella in the center!
We may have had a few.

The John Lennon Wall
*He didn't actually paint anything..
Kampa Park area. It's by the river on the edge of Malo Strana. There's lots of cafes, quaint streets and buildings. The John Lennon Wall is in this area. My friend told me that during communism people would write phrases from the Beatles songs as protest. Every now and then the authorities would paint over it and then the people would do it all over again. It was apparently illegal to write song lyrics, so this was a way to protest.
Very inspiring and really, really cool. We felt very grateful to have seen such a historical place.
Jubilee Synagoge
Palfy Palace - We decided to take our friends recommendation for our anniversary dinner. We went to this VERY hidden and in quite an obscure location restaurant, and opened the door to this lovely room glittering with candles, white linen clothed tables and lovely china. We were not disappointed. It was delicious and it felt like we were in an actual room of a palace.
The main plaza tree just twinkled. It was so Christmassy.

Oh my goodness!!! These pictures are amazing! It did not look so dressed up when we were there and we still loved it! We didn't see that John Lennon wall either---how cool! I'll have to go back and Czech it out!!!!!
